We are pleased to announce we achieved our Silver SCQF Award in November 2024 thanks to the hardwork of our ambassadors and staff.

What is the SCQF?

The SCQF is a Framework that compares Scottish qualifications. It does this by giving each qualification a level and a number of credit points.

  • the level of a qualification shows how difficult the learning is.
  • The credit points show how much learning is involved in achieving that qualification.

It covers achievements from School, College, University and many work based qualifications

What is an SCQF Ambassador

The SCQF School Ambassador programme offer Schools the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of the SCQF and the wider ways in which it support learners such as recognising wider achievements and developing tailored and purposeful learning pathways.

The SCQF can help:

  • Pupils to understand different qualifications
  • Pupils to decide how they progress in their learning
  • Employers to understand different types of qualifications
  • Further Educational Bodies to identify the level that has been studied in a particular subject and make it easier to transfer credit points between different learning programmes
  • Provide recognition of a variety of qualifications and achievements
