My World of Work’ Ambassadors

Earlier in the school year we launched the My World of Work’ Ambassadors programme in the school. We have been lucky enough to have eight volunteers from S4 who have went through training from an expert from Skills Development Scotland and are now spreading the word of the support it offers to their friends, fellow pupils, teachers, parents and carers. If you haven’t used My World of Work before, it’s a fantastic resource, packed with tools, advice and information empowering users to make informed, confident career decisions.

By volunteering to be an Ambassador, the pupils have gained valuable experience and skills that are transferable to the world of work. By promoting My World of Work and career management skills across the whole school, Ambassadors also contribute towards the schools delivery of national frameworks Developing the Young Workforce, the Career Education Standard, How Good is Our School 4 and Curriculum for Excellence.

The ambassadors can regularly be seen at Parent’s Evenings and are happy to answer any queries about the My World of Work site. As we move into the 2019-2020 term they will become involved in the PSE course delivery when looking at careers.

Recently they received an award from Skills Development Scotland for their work.
