Learn to perform and/or accompany on keyboard, drums, guitar, voice and tuned percussion.

Develop listening, aural and musical literacy skills through practical application and an integrated listening course which includes audio visual and interactive materials.

The Junior Band for pupils in S1, S2 and S3 meeting every Tuesday lunchtime. Instrumentalists in the band include brass, woodwind, strings and percussion.
The Senior Band meets every Friday and is for all pupils who play brass, woodwind, strings or percussion.
The Pipers join with the band at concerts and on tours.
Every two years the School Band and Pipers travel abroad for a concert and sightseeing tour. In the summer of 2010 we travelled to Lake Garda, Italy

Each year there is a Christmas concert involving at least 300 pupils in the various choirs and bands. The concert is held in the Old Kirk where there are 2 performances. In the afternoon all the Primary 7 pupils from the associated primaries are invited as well as residents from local care homes. Parents and friends are also welcome. In the evening entry is by ticket only with 500 parents, relatives and friends attending
