Comenius Project
Some second year pupils are involved in a link with a French
school in Ozoir la Ferrière, south east of Paris. The school
is called Campus Sainte
Thérèse and letters and photos
have been exchanged. We hope to meet them at some point in
the next year.
Some pupils in third year German have also started
a link with pupils in Albert
Einstein Gymnasium in Bochum in Germany
The International E link club is held every Wednesday lunchtime in room 211. It's aim is to get in touch with as many foreign schools as possible and learn a little about them and their culture. Contact has already been made with schools in Denmark, Spain and Sweden. A link will also be set up with a school in Bulgaria after the summer.
As of session 2006 / 2007 all S1 pupils will arrive in Bo'ness Academy having made their choice of language (French / German) at the end of their Primary 7 year.
 
The courses presently available in the modern language department are Standard Grade, Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher in both French and German.
Technology is an important part of language learning in the current curriculum and in Bo'ness includes
- Pale Systems : where pupils can do listening and speaking exercises using headphones and tapes
- Smartboards : which are available in 2 classrooms which encourage interactive classroom activities
- Use of Videos and DVD's
Homework is issued on a regular basis and can be learning or written
