Enterprise in Education

Determined to succeed (Dts) is the Scottish Executive's strategy for enterprise in education. It aims to help Scotland's young people develop self-confidence, self-reliance and ambition to achieve their goals - in work and in life.

Enterprise in Education is about business and education working together. The shared ambition is to change young people's attitudes - to work and to life.

Enterprise at Bo'ness is entering an exciting time as we work towards the aims of Dts by offering Enterprising opportunities to all pupils at all stages in Secondary School.

At present initiatives are underway to

change the way we deliver education through enterprising learning and teaching approaches

create partnerships with local and national businesses to utilise their expertise for curricular work and for school projects

create an enterprise space that will enable classes and groups involved in Enterprising Activities to make efficient use of our Enterprise toolkit to create displays, products for sale, practical presentations etc.

forge new teaching links to local businesses through Teacher and pupil placements

As Enterprise develops throughout the school parents can assist pupils by helping to complete Enterprise homework booklets.
