Software Development - Higher and Int 2 (powerpoint 1.8mb) Computer Systems 1 | Computer Systems 2 e mail your Computing homework into school In recent years, computing has played an increasingly important role in society. As a result, it is increasingly important that everybody should have an understanding of the the basics of computing. Department Within the department we have three networked IT Suites each with 20 computers. The department uses digital projectors, interactive whiteboards, digital cameras and scanners in lessons from all courses offered by the department. S1/S2 In S1/S2 pupils follow a course which introduces them to the different elements of General Purpose Packages including wordprocessing, spreadsheets, databases and graphics. Pupils will then move on to using the Internet and email in a proper and responsible manner. We hope this will give all pupils a broad insight into computing and the confidence to undertake basic tasks. S3/S4 At the end of second year pupils can choose from a number of courses offered by the Computing Department in S3/S4. The courses currently offered by the department are: Access 3 Computing Intermediate 1 Computing Standard Grade Computing S5/S6 Pupils in S5/S6 can choose from a variety of courses catering for the novice through to those with varying amounts of skills and knowledge.
