Careers Scotland
The Careers Adviser for Bo'ness Academy is Jim Tocher who is based in the Careers Room in the school library. Jim is in school on Wednesday mornings and all day Friday. S4, S5 and S6 pupils wishing assistance with their career planning can request an interview by completing an interview request card obtainable from the Pupil office or Library. For pupils wishing to carry out their own research there is a careers resource area within the main library with up to date information on careers and college / university courses. Careers Scotland's "Steps to Success" information leaflets covering topics such as how to compile a CV, interview techniques, letter applications and many more can be found in the careers resource area. There is a careers "drop-in" held in the library on Fridays from 1.15pm - 1.40pm available to all year groups. The Careers Adviser is available for consultation at the following Parent's Evenings : S2, S4, S5 and S6 Careers ScotlandCareers Scotland is Scotland's national all age career planning organisation for individuals and employers.
