Red Book Awards - 2009

the red book awards
Bo'ness Academy pupils joined other secondary students from Falkirk area at Falkirk Town Hall on January 28th 2009 to participate in the RED BOOK AWARDS. The S3 all girl class delivered a powerful drama presentation of 'Worse than Boys'; the book written by this year's winning author, Catherine Macphail. Special thanks to Mrs Gilchrist for her assistance with the stage fighting scenes and Mrs Cunningham for her assistance with the selection of music and a huge thank you to the girls for being excellent representatives of our school!

During the ceremony; Rhian Allan had the pleasure of introducing Catherine MacPhail to the audience whilst Lauren Simpson won a prize for the best book review from our school. In addition to this Bo'ness Academy girls got a special mention for the best team effort in the red accessory category - they all wore red ties, painted their nails red and the two separate gangs performing; 'Lip Gloss Girls' wore red bows whilst 'The Hell Cats' wore red/white wrist bands on one arm! Overall it was a fantastic day out
