Staff : Strictly Come Dancing

The staff dancers have been put through their paces by headteacher, Mr Mitchell who said "Our dancers, as well as performing the Waltz and Cha Cha, have also been learning the Quickstep and Jive. Hopefully this will not be just a one of, but stars of the future will emerge. At least they all deserve full marks for effort, commitment and for bringing a smile to us all"

In an interview prior to the event Mr Mitchell said that as a judge he would be looking to recognise the dance whilst watching that dancers kept in time to the music and that appropriate costumes were worn.

Mrs Cunningham hoped that couples would remain upright and said that interpretation of the music through the dance would be a miracle nice !

Amy and Mark are looking for big smiles and Miss Gordon for good footwork.

Getting Ready

Several of the dancers suffered from pre-competition nerves - Mrs Russell washed and dried every dish in the music dept ! mutterings of "why did I agree to do this" were heard in the corridor - other dancers were quietly confident

On the Dance Floor

Once the competition commenced concentration was etched on the faces and mouths could be seen muttering "one, two three, one two three" as they kept time to the waltz music. To give the couples time to draw breath the pupil dance competition took place after the waltz. This also allowed couples to change costume and mentally prepare for the demands of the Cha Cha
