As part of our ongoing international activities Bo’ness Academy hosted a preparatory meeting for a Comenius project on the Olympics. The meeting was held from 19-22 January 2010 and attended by representatives from schools in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Turkey.
Schools in both Poland and Greece also want to take part but were unable to attend the meeting.
During the meeting the application for the project was discussed and finalised and arrangements for future visits agreed. It is hoped that many departments in Bo’ness Academy will become involved in the project in the course of the next two years.
On the final afternoon participants had the opportunity to visit some local places of interest including the Falkirk Wheel and Callendar House.
The formal application has now been sent to the British Council and we await their decision which will be made next July
